At Kiomda, we develop robust solutions to measure the attendance of public, natural or event places. Today, we are evolving our offer with an expected innovation: a solar traffic meter, designed to function sustainably, without intervention, and without batteries to change.
After several months of tests and iterations, we now offer this option to all customers who want to strengthen the autonomy of their sensors, while reducing their environmental impact. This system works with solar energy, via rechargeable batteries, for long-lasting operation... and without intervention.
Our Verdilo meter, already 100% autonomous and wireless, becomes even more sustainable with this solar version. Concretely, we integrate a discrete solar module Linked to rechargeable batteries, offering an estimated battery life of several years without replacement (up to 10 years under normal conditions of use).
All it takes is a few minutes of sunlight per day to maintain an optimal charge. And even in winter or when the weather is overcast, the system is able to ensure continuity of service.
In our standard offer, we systematically replace batteries during the preventive maintenance included in our service. This solution works well, but it generates consumption, logistics and a small but real volume of waste.
With theSolar option, we are removing this dependency. The result: a sensor that becomes truly independent, sustainable and even easier to use.
We now offer two formats for this solar version:
Sensor with solar panel
Adapted to conventional installations, this discreet panel can be oriented to maximize exposure. It integrates perfectly into the environment.
“Solar hollowed out pole” cladding
A hollow pole specially designed to accommodate a solar panel facing the sky, integrated invisibly.
➤ Ideal for natural or urban sites with strong aesthetic constraints.
The arrival of this option is no gimmick. It is part of the way we do things: Move forward with small touches, by listening to uses, and proposing concrete solutions to concrete problems.
Our ambition is to offer the best possible service, without imposing unnecessary complexity. We develop in-house, test in the field, and continuously improve.
This option is already available on all our new sensors for purchase or rental.
