Albret Communauté has developed a 27 km greenway, connecting Serignac-sur-Garonne to Moncrabeau, inaugurated in June 2025.
The project is based on the rehabilitation of an old railway line, including the dismantling of the rails, the rehabilitation of the right-of-way and the development of several engineering structures (passages, wood and metal protections).
This greenway crosses two major centers of the territory, Lavardac and Nérac, characterized by a high concentration of businesses. The central axis of the road thus concentrates a significant part of daily travel.
The project benefitted from multiple funding (State, Region, Department, Europe). In this framework, the State imposes the transmission of usage data via a national platform dedicated to cycling, making it essential to set up a counting system.
The State requires that usage data be transmitted on an online cycling platform.
Kiomda supported Albert Communauté by the supply and commissioning of two metering boxes, installed along the greenway and put into operation from August 14, 2025.

Counters are now the the only tool to obtain reliable numerical data on the use of the infrastructure.
The data collected is mainly intended for a internal use, at first.
As the project is supported by the community of municipalities, the results are shared within the intermunicipal authorities, in particular with the elected officials and mayors of the municipalities concerned.
It is not public data. They are used internally, with elected officials, especially during committees to make progress reports.
At this stage, the community considers that it does not yet have sufficient perspective to communicate widely on tourist uses or identify long-term trends. The objective is first of all to structure regular follow-up, with at least monthly statements.

For Albret Communauté, the main benefit is clear:
without the counters, no encrypted data could have been produced.
There is no other way to get encrypted data without counters. So it is essential.
Data has already been mobilized several times to fuel exchanges with elected officials, secure project management and meet the requirements of funders.
